CFSP
Child and Family Studies Program (CFSP) is a part of the Department of Psychiatry at Allegheny University of the Health Sciences, Allegheny Campus. The program's mission is to enhance the overall quality of life for children who are at-risk for, or who experience, developmental disabilities, and their families. This is accomplished through research, training, services, and program development. CFSP houses doctoral investigators whose funded research addresses a variety of educational and developmental issues for children. The focus of research involves educational issues such as direct instruction, inclusion, outcomes of early intervention services, development of social competence, and reform of instructional practices. Funding is from various sources, including the U. S. Department of Education, the National Institutes of Mental Health, the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, and the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
